Final Thoughts

I had brought my swimming trunks to the show this year, determined to make the plunge, but Saturday was a long, tiring day once again, and having to check out before the show opened on Sunday morning was another deterrent. 

I thought of Ernie Fisher, once again, before leaving. I could imagine him sitting in the hot tub with his trademark hat on. WLM – the Vienna-based loudspeaker manufacturer will be at the High End show in Vienna next month, but that's too far for me to throw a stone. Projects and reviews have already piled up to take me through the summer and maybe into fall. I'm bursting with excitement about them.

Pulling out of town, I passed the polar octopus whose habitat normally lies up in Hudson Bay.

My cerebral navigation system, honed over a decade of hitchhiking around the U.S. and Europe from the mid-1960s through mid-1970s, led me across the bridge over the St. Lawrence. From there, through my beloved Adirondacks, stopping at Stewart's Shops for road food and gas, I dreamt of summer vacation. My head hit the pillow at home, dreaming of the 21k words and 364 photos yet to come.
