Audiovector R 10 Arreté Flagship Loudspeaker At HIGH END 2025 Assessment Review

Audiovector is a celebrated, family-owned Danish manufacturer well-known for designing, developing, and handcrafting ultra high-end loudspeakers. Founded in 1979 by Ole Klifoth, the company was born out of a passion for achieving the perfect musical reproduction for global audiophiles. Today, under the leadership of Ole's son, Mads Klifoth, Audiovector continues to uphold its founding vision — producing natural-sounding speakers that deliver uncompromising sound quality, paired with meticulous craftsmanship and luxurious design. Every Audiovector product is built entirely in-house, from the custom-designed drive units to the premium high-density wood cabinets finished in exclusive materials. This integrated approach not only ensures sonic excellence but also reflects the company's deep-rooted commitment to quality and innovation.

At HIGH END Munich 2025, the company proudly unveils its flagship loudspeaker — the R 10 Arreté (£127,500 per pair, $165,000, or €147,500) large floorstanding loudspeaker. This model represents the pinnacle of home audio engineering and design for Audiovector, marrying the very latest innovations by the company. Every R 10 Arreté floorstanding loudspeaker is meticulously designed, engineered, and hand-built in Denmark using premium high-density wood. Buyers can choose from luxurious finishes such as African Mahogany Crotch Piano, Canadian Birdseye Maple Piano, or Italian Walnut Burl Piano, giving each unit a unique, visually arresting presence.

For many years Enjoy the Music.com has kept you updated about their designs, and the ethos behind Audiovector's R 10 Arreté is one of outstanding beauty and high-performance.

Audiovector CEO Mads Klifoth wants Enjoy the Music.com to know that, "Our ambition was to create something timeless and uncompromising – both in appearance and performance,” says Audiovector CEO Mads Klifoth. "The R 10 has been developed entirely from the ground up. Every single component – from the cabinet to the drive units – has been purpose-designed to deliver the most natural, dynamic, and open sound reproduction we have ever achieved."

The R 10 Arreté floorstanding speaker features a dual AMT tweeter system that delivers an exceptionally open, precise, and three-dimensional treble. The primary zero-compression AMT tweeter operates from 3 kHz to 53 kHz, while a dedicated hyper-tweeter extends the treble response from 20 kHz to 53 kHz — well beyond what some consider the normal range of human hearing. This dual configuration seeks to maximize the retrieval of fine details, delivering superior imaging and micro-dynamic expression in the top end treble.

Bass lovers rejoice as eight rear-mounted bass drivers combine to provide the equivalent surface area and displacement of a 15" woofer. Each driver has +/-12 mm linear travel that collectively provide a large membrane surface area equivalency. This innovative design ensures profound bass extension with controlled articulation. Subwoofers are probably not needed, or desired, here. The bass driver configuration minimizes cabinet-induced pressure buildup, resulting in a bass response goal that is fast, powerful, and deeply controlled.

The unconventional AFC ( Accelerated Force Concept) structure is engineered to precisely accelerate and decelerate the drive units. This results in lightning-fast response, ultra-low distortion, and a tangible, physical presence in the midrange that can be both heard and felt. A flexible damping system aligns the cabinet's resonance and energy release with the musical content, ensuring a calm, controlled, and musically coherent performance.

Additionally, two upper bass / lower midrange drivers on the front baffle deliver precise, virtually undistorted performance at normal volume levels in the crucial lower midrange, where most musical dynamics reside, thereby complementing the overall expansive soundstage. We here at Enjoy the Music.com know the Audoovector R 10 Arreté not only surpasses its predecessor, the R 8 Arreté, but also marks a decade-long collaboration with his father, Ole. This model is described as a culmination, a bold statement, and a tribute to passion, precision, and family-driven innovation.

Our Thoughts On The Audiovector R 10 Arreté Loudspeaker
We feel that the Audiovector R 10 Arreté is a groundbreaking design by the company. This very special hand-crafted audiophile-grade loudspeaker integrates advanced driver technologies and sophisticated design features to deliver an immersive, finely-detailed, and highly-dynamic music playback experience. The company hopes it stands as a timeless piece of heritage and innovation, offering a dual-dimensional sonic performance that elevates the listener experience well beyond conventional Big Box Store sound gear.
