Video: Kronos Kronoscope RS And Discovery RS Tonearm Overview / Review-ish Featuring Louis Desjardins, Bill Parish, And Enjoy the Music.com Senior Editor Greg Weaver

With many manufacturers smartly doing their own videos, this month Enjoy the Music.com is showcasing GTT Audio's Episode 56 featuring Kronos Audio launch of their Discovery RS and Kronoscope RS high-end audio tonearm. Here we have Louis Desjardins of Kronos Audio, Bill Parish of GTT Audio & Video, plus our very own Senior Editor Greg Weaver discussing these new tonearms. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention one of the audiophile community's longstanding writers, Rufus Smith, who changed from a VPI top-line turntable to the Kronos Discovery and he's extremely happy with the sound results.

Kronos' launch of their Discovery RS and Kronoscope RS tonearms extends Louis Desjardins' dream of creating the world's best turntable. Based on solid engineering and physics principles, the Kronos Discovery Turntable is both beautiful to hear and see too! With form following function, the Discovery turntable was reviewed only a few months back by Enjoy the Music.com's Rick Becker who said:

"Is this the greatest turntable in the world? I don't think anyone can truly answer that question. I came. I listened. I was immensely impressed with what I heard. I decided the question is irrelevant. Louis Desjardins has reached his mountain top with the Discovery."

Another benefit is that Louis of Kronos Audio is virtually always available on the phone to help both the turntable-curious and owners of his products, which is something you can't say about certain turntable manufacturers. Rick Becker's Discovery turntable review is below.

Rick Becker Investigates A Treasured Turntable
It was supposed to be a nearly five-hour trip but my wife missed a turn on the shortcut and took the Shooting Brake through an all-terrain parking lot to buy lunch at Subway. Then there were accidents on I-80 to slow us down. Nevertheless, Bill Parish was all smiles, as usual, when we pulled into GTT Audio to get a listen to Louis Desjardins' latest masterpiece, the Kronos Discovery turntable. Bill had sent me his GTT video newsletter with a pow-wow after David W. Robinson, Editor in Chief and Senior Writer Maurice Jeffries of Positive Feedback had spent an afternoon listening to the new turntable. Emails flew and Louis sent me a copy of Alan Sircom's review in HiFi+ magazine. I emailed Louis and told him I thought it was a very good review. He replied that he thought it was an Excellent!

With the introduction of the original Kronoscope; Kronos completely redesigned the base, backplate and counterweight system. They only outsourced the arm wand. For them, this was a huge advancement in technology, functionality, ease of use and sound. With the introduction of the RS Series (RS = patent pending Resonance Suppressor), Kronos has developed two 12" tonearms, completely manufactured in house. The original Kronoscope, Black Beauty, and Helena arms are now discontinued.

We know you'll enjoy Louis, Bill, Greg (a.k.a. The Audio Analyst) for the launch video of the Kronos Audio Kronoscope RS and Discovery RS tonearms. Kronos has released what Bill considers the biggest contribution to analog playback since the introduction of Discovery and contra-rotation platters on turntables.  Discovery RS and Kronoscope RS utilize new patent-pending technology conceived by Louis.  For owners of Kronos Audio gear, there's a trade-up program for all owners currently utilizing Kronoscope, Black Beauty, and Helena tonearms. Watch the video below to learn about these exciting new tonearms.
