Imperiali Genève $1,000,000 Emperador Humidor

Our most expensive Great Audiophile Gift is also not only the most luxurious; it is also the most intricate and exclusive work of art. Imperiali Genève will produce only 12 of their $1,000,000 Emperador combination humidor, cigar cutter and flying tourbillon case each year. This highly exclusive, extravagant, and exciting offering combines many very specialized technological feats.

There is no doubt Imperiali Genève has made extravagance its signature, with innovative and highly technological creations that surprise and enthrall. Luxurious and enriched with magnificent details, the Emperador showcases its mechanics – namely its incredible lock and flying tourbillon. Their Emperador is the most exclusive and prestigious cigar chest the world has ever seen. The only clue to the intricate marriage of mechanics and electronics that comprise it are its three indicators displaying in real time the relative humidity and temperature inside the chest, the power reserve and the number of cigars remaining.

For a little background, Imperiali Genève arose from the longstanding friendship between David Pasciuto and Stéphane Nazzal. Since they share a deep passion for fine mechanics and opulent lifestyle, their ever-increasing obstacles give rise to unprecedented developments that are patented worldwide.

With thousands of hours of work, two international patents and more than 3500 components – 2675 of which were specially manufactured – were required to meet Imperiali Genève’s first challenge. Their Emperador cigar chest encompasses masters of traditional crafts, talented micromechanics, engineering, watchmakers and specialized designers. Nearly one hundred professionals from twenty-seven trades have combined their expertise to produce a result that exceeds all expectations.

So What Does The Imperiali Genève Emperador Offer?
A luxurious 27" wide chest stores up to 24 cigars, 12 on the top layer and another 12 under those. Three mechanical dials display relative humidity, with the standard being 70 percent, and temperature plus the number of cigars remaining. A laser allows you to see exactly where the cigar cutter will work it's magic as it first centers the cigar, and then clamps it into position followed by a high quality guillotine cutter. A gas-fueled table lighter ensures uniform lighting that will not scorch the cigar's gold wrapper.

So about that temperature, as most humidors only control humidity, Imperiali Genève says "Like a luxurious safe, the heart of the chest conceals two secure, climate-controlled compartments reserved for the 24 cigars each wrapped in four leaves of fine gold, protected by glass tubes and placed in a radial arrangement. Achieving the ideal storage conditions is a complex technical matter. To do so, the temperature and humidity levels must be controllable. The recommended values for the two variables are 70 percent humidity, and a temperature of 16°C to 18°C, but these values can be modified according to the needs and wishes of the consumer. How can this be achieved in such a small space, and given the potential variations in external temperature?"

"To meet these requirements, the designers of the Emperador chose to use a very special type of cell: thermoelectric cooling cells. These are small modules that create heat displacement upon receiving an electrical current. This causes a temperature increase on one side, and cooling, with the formation of liquid condensation, on the other. Two of these modules were installed: one to humidify the cigar compartments, the other to control the temperature. The whole system is regulated by an intelligent combination of three air flows designed to ensure the passive cooling of the entire unit. Also of note is the presence of a condenser within the same compartment, in the form of a small vertical tube which allows the humidity level to be reduced if required."

How Do You Make The World's Most Refined Humidor More Special?
By adding the largest tourbillion watch ever crafted, you bring the best of horology into your magnificent home. In horology, a tourbillon is an addition to the mechanics of a watch escapement. Developed around 1795 and patented by the French-Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1802, a tourbillon aims to counter the effects of gravity by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage. This negates the effect of gravity as it pertains to ensuring accuracy in timekeeping. By continuously rotating the entire balance wheel/escapement assembly, any possibility of positional errors from the Earth's gravitational pull are averaged out and thus said effects are nulled.

The Emperador cigar is a premium product whose manufacture leaves nothing to chance. After 48 months of ageing, the leaves are carefully processed with the utmost respect to create an exceptional Grand Cru. Produced in Switzerland using noble materials, Imperiali Genève's Emperador measures 70cm long, 45cm wide and 30cm high.

A Personal Note
On a personal note, my wife and Muse Heather is always hoping to offer me the perfect gift. Alas, due to my personal desires am the type of guy who it becomes nearly impossible to find just the right gift. If for some reason someone reading this has enjoyed Enjoy the Music.com, and perhaps dare i say my own reviews and writings over the decades, if you have the means and want to humbly thank me for all these efforts.... This would make the perfect gift, with each cigar being enjoyed while carefully ensuing the tourbillion timepiece will be enjoyed daily. Simply loaning me this beautiful humidor for a few years, with Yours Truly having he ability to smoke each cigar, would be a welcome 'compromise'.

As always, in the end what really matters is that you enjoy your time and...
