Áudio & Vídeo Hi-Fi Sao Paulo Brazil Audiophile Show 2003

The entrance of the show offered valet parking while Bainco and Renata greeted everyone with a big smile and show magazine.

Skysom is the distributor of various products including Triangle and Resolution Audio, Magellan. The Magellan Reference loudspeakers ($33,000 USD) were being driven by the Audiopax Model Eighty Eight tube amplifiers. These loudspeakers are 94dB/W/m sensitive with dual aluminum tweeters (one front firing the other rear) and four eight-inch woofers with dual midrange units (one front, one rear firing).

The small bookshelf loudspeakers, called the Solis, are $3,500 USD and employ the same tweeter with a front-mounted midrange and rear-mounted woofer. Twin rear ports assist in allowing for deep bass reproduction.

American Express, don't leave home without it.

Monsters are all over the world as Noel Lee's Monster Cable brand had a large booth showing everything from cables to power filters and pens! Seen here is their M Series loudspeaker cable.

PSB loudspeaker were well represented here in Sao Paulo with their Stratus Silver i ($2,700 USD) and Stratus Gold i ($3,700 USD) floorstanders plus the Stratus Subsonic 7 subwoofer ($1,300 USD).

Synchotape is a large distributor of many top brands including Marantz, Lexicon, Anthem, Mirage, Revel, Velodyne and Paradigm. Seen above is an array of various Mirage loudspeakers while below is Revel's counterparts.

Sankya has been around for six years, yet seems to have flown under the world radar as their ST 6.0 ($1,500 USD) six channel amplifier has dual-FET for input and mosfet outputs. It produced 250 watts per channel at 4 Ohms. Frequency response is 20Hz to 30kHz with THD at less than 0.01 percent. It weights in at a hefty 24 kg. They also offer a two-channel version, the ST 2.0, for $500 (USD). Inputs for their entire amplifier range are via balanced XLR and there is an adjustable gain control on the rear (see photo below). An adjustment for universal voltages and auto power on sensor (switchable) appear on the rear panel as well.
