CES Show Report

CES Show Report Audiophile Exhibitor List
Classic Records Press Conference

Michael Hobson, owner of Classic Records and pictured above, said this is the biggest announcement in the history of his company. Scott Markwell of Classic Records came forward to announce they are the new distributor of Nola loudspeakers. They also have procured North America distribution of Arcici. Blue Danube record cleaners have changed names to Hannl and Classic Records is the official world distributors.

Music began to play from a 45rpm sampler that has three songs. Straight Ahead Records, a company with mastering genius Bernie Grundman, has some new music and we heard various extremely talented musicians. The two new records were held up, one by Bernie himself. He is very proud of these new albums and the extremely awe-inspiring performances contained within them. Recording engineer Stewart Levine, a partner in this endeavor, gave great praise for these new records. One is John Heard & Co. The Jazz Composer's Songbook. The other new title is Zane Musa Introducing Zane Musa.

Michael Hobson came back up front and announced while they have been quietly releasing monophonic records, as that is the originally recorded format. There are some new, remastered music Classic Records is soon to release! These are 'purely cut' mono records where the cutting heads and other bits to remaster is wholly mono to eliminate any possibility of a 'false stereo' effect due to using a mismatched stereo cutter head to make a mono recording.

And now the soon-to-be available vinyl. And they are:

Amos Lee on 200 gram Super vinyl cut from the original 0.5-inch master tape

John Lee Hooker The Healer on 200 gram vinyl and Dual Disc
cut from the original 0.5-inch master tape.

Lee Morgan The Cooker on 200 gram vinyl
cut from the original mono master tape. In fact a
staggering amount of Blue Note 1500 series will be released!

Second is the 4000 series mono on 200 gram vinyl including
Soul Station and many others!

And if that were not enough, Michael Hobson of Classic Records has hunted down the original mono master tape to none other than Billie Holiday and her Music For Torching album! Expect more and we will get more of the great Holiday on vinyl!

Also soon to be available is the complete Diana Krall.
Yes folks, all six albums!

Everest stereo Berloiz Symphonie Fantistique op.14
mastered from the original 35mm tapes and will be
available on 200 gram vinyl and Dual Disc.
