After Show Fast Facts on New Goodies

 

Audioshpere Technologies Corp. were showing an improved version of the very popular DQ10. Frequency response is claimed as being from 14 Hz to 30 k Hz.

 

Boston Acoustics new VR965 Lynnfield floorstanding loudspeaker includes an integrated 80-watt self-powered subwoofer. This 3-Way, 3-driver system employs an 8inch "DCD" woofer, 4.5" midrange and 1" aluminum dome. Boston Acoustic's BassTrac™ assures clean bass at all levels.

 

The Boston PowerVent PV1000 High Output Powered Subwoofer uses a 10" dynamic cone driver with die-cast frame and RadialVent™ cooling. A very generous 1000 watt amplifier with BassTrac™ is among the largest amplifiers available in any self-powered subwoofer. A built-in 50 Hz to 150 Hz variable electronic crossover plus crossover bypass input are included for system flexibility.

 

The genious' at B&W are at it again with their new The Nautilus™ HTM1. The HTM1 is a center channel loudspeaker designed for home theater use.

 

As first seen on the Enjoy the Music.com™ News Page, the B&W LM 1 Leisure monitor offers a very compact size for ease of placement while also offering visual beauty via various exterior colors.

 

B&W's WP1 Weatherproof Monitor is a very flexible unit capable of both indoor and outdoor use. The WP1 employs a computer-optimized, vented-enclosure design to deliver both extended bass yet still providing excellent sensitivity without leaving any opening to moisture or those pesky outdoor critters.

 

Harman Kardon's CDR 2 audio CD-R/CD-RW recorder is the first to offer 4x-speed CD-R and CD-RW recording capability in a convenient two tray home unit.

 

The Infinity Intermezzo 1.2s is a high-performance 1000 watt subwoofer utilizing Infinity's Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm™ driver technology and Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System to deliver exceptional bass performance.

 

The Infinity Intermezzo 4.1t is a high-performance visually attractive floorstanding loudspeaker system. Like the Intermezzo 1.2s above, it also employs their Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm™ driver technology for exceptional sonic and reproduction and Infinity's Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System to deliver top quality bass performance.

 

For those looking for a smaller loudspeaker using the same technology as the other two new Infinity loudspeakers, the new Infinity Intermezzo 2.6 is a small compact self-powered loudspeaker system for home theater and home stereo enjoyment. It also employs the Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm driver technology and Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System.

 

JBL's S412P loudspeaker is their new flagship within the JBL Studio Series. It incorporates a self-powered woofer onboard to reproduce movie soundtracks and music. This also helps to provide an easy-to-drive load to outboard middle and upper frequency amplifier(s).

 

The JBL Studio Series S38 is a compact three-way horizontal mirror-image mid/nearfield monitor modeled after JBL's professional studio monitors.

 

JJ Electronic's new JJ 322 stereo single-ended tube mono block amplifier offers pure "Class A" output via a pair of 300B tubes in parallel.

 

JVC's new XL-R5000BK is a very first of it's kind three CD changer to use a tray and include a 2x Speed CD-R/RW dubbing deck! The CD pitch control allows club type mixes too. In also includes a daily/once play/rec timer for recording onto CD at a later time.

 

The Klipsch Reference Series RP-5, as first reviewed anywhere in the world on the Enjoy the Music.com Review Magazine, is a self-powered subwoofer equipped floorstanding loudspeaker. Their horn-loaded tweeter is claimed to provide for extremely clear and detailed imaging and to make familiar lyrics more intelligible.

 

The Lexicon MC1 is a high performance audio processor, D/A converter, broadcast quality video switcher and dual zone controller. It utilizes Lexicon's proprietary processing including Logic7 and professional reverb programs to simulate various acoustic environments.

 

The Linn Klimax 500 Solo Power Amplifier, as first seen anywhere in the world on our Hi-Fi '99 Show report, uses Linn's patented "silent power™" circuitry.

 

Martin Logan were showing their Scenario hybrid loudspeaker. This is their most compact, affordable, freestanding full-range electrostatic hybrid loudspeaker Martin Logan offers.

 

Martin Logan's Prodigy is their "reference level" electrostatic hybrid speaker intended for use in the accurate re-creation of original recorded audio in stereo, multi-channel music or theater home environments.

 

The Marantz Reference Series DR-17 CD Recorder is a state-of-the-art home audio CD-R/CD-RW recorder designed to provide the "ultimate" digital audio performance with very flexible CD recording capabilities.

 

McCormack Audio were showing their all new stereo amplifier for home music and theater systems. Using their "DNA" design approach, along with meticulous hand assembly and premium-quality parts, provides their new amplifier with excellent sound quality, reliability, and long product life.

 

The M&K S-150P THX is a THX Ultra monitor that provides the enormous audible benefits of active bi-amplification in a compact package with a total amplifier capability of over 180 watts.

 

Monster Power® Home Theatre Automatic Voltage Stabilizer AVS2000 is designed to, under any condition, deliver consistent stable power to all connected home audio/video equipment.

 

The new MSB Multi-Channel Audio Titan incorporates three MSB products into one high-end unit. The Multiple Digital Processor (MDP3x), the Multiple Volume Control (MVC) and the Link DAC. With the MDP3x automatically decoding Dolby Digital, DTS, and ProLogic formats, and the MVC providing automatic level setting for up to eight analog inputs, the Link DAC takes it one step beyond. The MDP3x features MSB's exclusive triple digital outputs to connect it to up to three Link DACs. Starting with one Link DAC for the front channel D/A, the system allows for flexibility depending on the customers budget and high-end audio demands with easy upgrade ability. It is a fully capable 24-bit/96kHz processing system and is rack mountable.

 

Technics DVD-A10 as first seen anywhere on the internet within our Milan '99 show report, is the world’s first DVD-Audio player. Home CD recording has now come to very small shelf stereo systems! Including multi-CD compilations and voice recording, the new Philips FW-R8 includes a CD Recordable unit within a small shelf/desktop Hi-Fi system!

 

Sennheiser was showing many new headphones at the show. The RS30 and RS40 are hi-fi stereo, Open-Aire™, 900 MHz RF wireless headphone system. The RS60 is a 900 MHz Surround Sound RF wireless headphone system combining Sennheiser's trademark sound with a trend-setting, ergonomic design. The system incorporates a state-of-the-art SRS surround sound processor and a special input filter for eliminating transmission interference. Meanwhile their new RS80 is also a 900 MHz RF wireless headphone system yet incorporates a proprietary HiDyn plus noise reduction technology.

 

Sharp's new 1-Bit Amplifier called the SM-SX100 uses the 7th order of the Delta Sigma modulation coding technology. This high Fidelity power amplifier is capable of sampling frequency at 64fs (2.8224 MHz = 44.1kHz 64). This offers a claimed playback range up to 100kHz and the dynamic range is 120dB.

 

 

The Sherwood Newcastle V-756 DVD player offers advanced video capability along with built-in audio decoding for Dolby Digital, DTS, MPEG-2, Meridian Lossless Packet (MLP), Circle Surround, and 6.1 channel extended surround. This impressive audio decoding capability can even be used with external sources. That's right, MLP too!

 

The THIEL PCS loudspeaker is a compact high performance three-way loudspeaker system designed for ease of use within very compact quarters. Its phase coherent and distortion reducing engineering features are claimed to provide "exceptionally realistic sound reproduction in home video and music sound systems". The PCS can be placed on bedroom dressers, office credenzas, or shelves.
