T.H.E. Show Newport Beach 2015 Report
The Home Entertainment Show 2015
Nordost And Jeff Rowland Design Group

Nordost was launching their brand new Odin 2 speaker cable and doing a live demonstration with their new Odin 2 interconnect. Nordost all around cool guy Rune first had the older cable in the system, then changed it out for the newer version and you could clearly hear a difference for the better! Cable disbelievers take note, you really should have attended this demo as it was informative and very enlightening.

Nordost's Odin 2 analog interconnect is terminated with the company's very special HOLO:PLUG connectors. Nordost says that "The low mass, dual ring design of the HOLO:PLUG facilitates “asymmetrically balanced” cables, while the gold-plated, solid brass alloy pins reduce vibrations, eddy currents and harmful non-conductive elements when mated to other components. The combination of these aspects produces unprecedented resolution and seamless transfer of information, so that every nuance of musical detail is captured."

Jeff Rowland Design group was also within the Nordost room and here is Jeff with Rune of Nordost. Jeff Rowland was showcasing his Model 925 monoblocks amplifiers ($58,000), Corus preamplifier ($14,900) and Aeris DAC ($9800). Their Model 925 is said to represent the company's "ultimate benchmark of dynamic realism and expressive refinement. A quarter century of engineering passion expressed in the synergy of advanced technologies and timeless design."

For those curious, the difference in Odin 2 interconnect cables versus the previous version is smoother highs, less time smear of the transients plus more dynamic delicacy. Bass was further extended into the lower registers.
