Montreal Audiofest 2025 Show Report By Rick Becker
There was something for everyone at this
year's Montreal
Audiofest, from entry-level to cost-no-concern. The mood was enthusiastic and
upbeat. The people in this industry work for the good and
benefit of others. Below are my choices for those who earned a special Enjoy
the Music.com Best Of Montreal Audiofest 2025 Blue Note Award.
Lemay Audio
Incredible
custom speakers driven by Tenor amplification with a hot-rodded Grimm front end,
mostly connected with Silversmith cables. A repeat winner. (Part 1, room 1216)

Hearken Audio
This premier
retailer brings together unusual components and tweaks his room to the max. A
repeat winner. (Part 3, room 2341)
Wynn Audio
A premier distributor of
very high-end audio brands, presented a system from Audio Group Denmark, and a system
with Vinnie Rossi electronics driving a Vimberg speaker; both stood out. A
perennial winner at Toronto Audiofest. (Part 6, room M5)
Acora Acoustics And Audio Research
The
new, more affordable Acora speaker made its Montreal debut, driven by Audio
Research electronics with a VPI analog front end. Acora Acoustics has been a
perennial winner at almost every show they attend, driven by a variety of
different amplifiers. (Part 6, room W6)
Cardas Audio, Eon Art Canada, Oracle Audio Technologies,
And Gershman Acoustics
This is
the "A-Team" that puts together one of the finest rooms anywhere, year after
year in Montreal. That they've done it with multiple different Gershman
speakers is extraordinary. (Part 7, room S8)
That's A Wrap
There was something for everyone at this year's Montreal Audiofest, from entry-level to cost-no-concern. The mood was enthusiastic and upbeat. The people in this industry work for the good and benefit of others. Music is the social lubricant of humanity. I hope
you've enjoyed this chronicle. Have a great summer, and enjoy some live music. I look forward to seeing my many Canadian friends again in Toronto in October.
