HIGH END 2026 Vienna: Global Audiophiles And Music Lovers Converge For A Landmark Luxury
Hi-Fi Show
Notoriously, audio show venues fall far short of optimal for audio systems to show their best. But to give credit to the exhibitors, they work very hard in the days leading up to the show to setup their systems to sound good, and on the whole the results were impressive.
Nevertheless, given the new venue, there was a range of success in developing acoustic environments that allowed systems to display their sonic capacities to their full extent. Some rooms had significant and annoying room-bleed from adjacent installations, making demos difficult.
In addition, there were fewer rooms available for active displays than in Munich, and a number of well-known brands were relegated to static displays, while others had to resort to temporary sound cabins for their systems.
This led to somewhat greater variability in presentation than in Munich, where many exhibitors had the same or similar venues each year, and hence were prepared for the best ways to setup their systems for optimal show enjoyment.
