  Edge Audio's new G3 stereo integrated amplifier ($4,250) provides four inputs, tape loop, and 85 watts per channel. An included wireless remote controls volume while elegant blue LED lights enhance visual esthetics.

 

Cabling the Edge Audio room were Analysis Plus with their top line Golden Oval ($6,320 for 8 foot pair) loudspeaker cable, Golden Oval interconnects ($1,999 for 1 meter).

 

The Telarc booth was packed with great music including their new release Jazz Sampler 3 and also Prokofiev "Romeo and Juliet", both in SACD.

 

Von Schweikert's new Db-99 MKII floorstanding loudspeakers ($5,900 per pair) are 99dB sensitive and are offered in virtually any color. Improvements include upgraded 1-inch silk soft dome tweeter and 10-inch carbon paper composite woofer. Midrange driver stays the same 7-inch aerogel unit. The same amplifier employed within their Db-100 is now within the Db-99 MKII.

 

Valve Amplification Company (VAC) proudly showcased their new beam powered 110 watt per channel stereo amplifier PHI 110/110 ($9,500, left in photo). The VAC PHI Beta 110i ($19,000) stereo integrated amplifier. Both use KT88 in ultralinear mode and 6SN7 for input, driver and line stage gain. The integrated has all the controls of the PHI 2.0 Master Control pre-amplifier including the variable level control, bypass, tape monitor loop, and MM/MC inputs (both active and toggle so a pair of turntables can be accommodated for).

 

VAC's new Auricle MKII stereo amplifier that is easily switchable to monoblock form (55 watts stereo or 110 mono, $2,200) features four EL34 outputs tubes and four 12AU7 tubes. The ground is configurable and easy bias adjustment.
