High End 2007 Show
High End Society Munich Germany
High End 2007 Show High End Society Munich Germany

Welcome to Enjoy the Music.com's eighth consecutive year covering Germany's High End Society High End audiophile and consumer electronics show! Without a doubt this is the most important show of the season with nearly 700 of the industry's leading manufacturers and distributors, plus many members of the press from all around the world in attendance. In the course of more than two decades, the High End 2007 show has become Europe's most successful event of its kind that features high-end audio and video products. With a press/trade day on May 17th followed by days for enthusiasts from May 18th through the 20th, visitor to the fair at Munich's M.O.C. will meet the entire spectrum of audiophile technology including two-channel audio, turntables, tube power amplifiers, high-tech loudspeakers plus high-performance media servers and multi-channel demonstrations. American companies looking to reach a worldwide market should seriously consider this show as their best opportunity to greatly expand their business.

My show report is going to focus on equipment that is making its debut here in Munich. There are so many companies that are, for the first time anywhere in the world, showing new product that it makes little sense to report on items that have appeared elsewhere. Even manufacturers, for example KEF and others, who had products at a fairly recent show yet still save their truly statement product releases for this show. With so many members of the press from around the world attending High End Munich event, plus many distributors seeking new product lines, it makes sense to save their very best for this venue. The High End Society confirms this is the largest European show of the year and judging from the sheer quality and quantity, their words are indeed backed by the numbers. With the United States dollar losing nearly 50 percent of its value over the past few years, now is the perfect time for American companies to have the advantage as their products are now extremely price competitive in Europe, even with the usual import duties.

During a conversation with one very important importer/distributor who holds companies in both Europe and America, he confirms the strength of his wise financial and stocking decision in making moves that are currently paying excellent financial dividends. Before the show I spoke with a few United States manufacturers and they all expressed great joy in the fact that European sales are increasing. Large companies from Krell and Wilson Audio are here at the show as are many smaller Unites States based companies. The main point is that with the huge gathering of distributors from around the world looking for new product lines, the devaluation of the American dollar and very favorable conditions in the economy, now is the time for smart business people to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The days when high-end audio suffered due to the Asian crisis are long over and now is the time for action!

With that said, I hope you enjoy my High End Society's High End Munich exhibition show report. Have done my best to provide a very diverse and expansive coverage, though it will contain a vast majority of ‘first seen’ product releases versus the same product that has been seen elsewhere. Of course in the end what really matters is that you…

Enjoy the Music,

Steven R. Rochlin
