International CES 2008 Show Report

For those who complain we high-end reviewers always cover mega-buck gear, here is the Xindak model MT-1 tube stereo integrated amplifier ($549) that utilizes a quad of 6P14 and pair of 6F2 tubes to produce 12.5 wpc. Frequency response is a very wide 10Hz to 70kHz with a mere 0.2% THD. There are three inputs and both 4 and 8 Ohm very high quality loudspeaker binding posts. The fit and finish look top-notch and even if it was $2000 it looks like a true contender.

In ye good ol' Roy Hall of Music Hall fame room was the Bellari VP530 phono preamplifier ($399) that has usb and phono input, yet the phono stage can be turned off and tube output stage. Now follow me here, the analog input can be line level or MM phonostage, output to usb or to the headphone jack.

Note: My apologies for the little coverage today, as i had many business meetings. Tomorrow is a new day and hope to really do quite a bit of coverage.
