The Holidays Are Upon Us

  The holidays are just around the bend and I'll take a guess that you probably haven't started your holiday shopping just yet. But fret not because we've got a complete Gift Guide for you in this issue, at least for the tech-loving individual on your gift list (such as yourself). Even if you don't find that perfect gift on our list, it is sure to generate some ideas and point you in the right direction. George and I had a lot of fun writing it, and we hope you enjoy reading it just as much.

We realize that reading about all the toys on our gift list may get you wondering whether you should buy something for yourself and we have a suggestion for that as well. While buying something for yourself might seem a little selfish, you could certainly look for a gift to satisfy the whole family -- like a new TV, AV receiver or sound system that everyone can enjoy. Our gift guide makes a few suggestions in these areas but before selecting a new TV, you should definitely give Jeremy Phan's TV Buyer Guide a read. This issue also contains our first review of a VIZIO TV since the brand recently began selling its products in Canada. And remember that you can always find buyer guides for all the other product categories on CANADAHiFi.

In addition to these two great features, Malcolm Gomes takes a look at the "History and Future of Music Delivery'' -- an interesting, casual read for anyone that loves music. And as you've probably come to expect we also have a few entertaining reviews.

I am also delighted to welcome Douglas Brown to our contributor team. His first article about Audio Sensibility cables appeared online recently, and this issue marks his debut in print with a review of the Neat Acoustics IOTA Loudspeakers. I'm sure you'll enjoy his insightfulness and style of writing as much as I do!
