Eleven Hi-Fi And Axiss Audio
One of the big treats of this year's SWAF 2026 was the chance to hear some Accuphase gear thanks to Axiss Audio. It was paired with some beautiful Gauder Akustik speakers. Accuphase, a Japanese company, is one of the stalwarts of high-end audio. Accuphase started in 1972, so for them to still be going strong 54 years later is quite an accomplishment. The Accuphase gear in the room was the C-2300 Preamplifier, the DAC-60 DAC Expansion Cord, A-300 Monoblocks, and a DP-450 CD Player.

All of this gear was absolutely gorgeous! The loudspeakers in the room were Gauder Akustik Elargo 200s. These three-way speakers were also beautiful with their high-gloss rosewood finish.  A Power Core and Power Strip from Telo Foundation provided the AC. An Aurender AP20 musical server was the source.

Early on the last day, I was able to have the room to myself and listen to Pekka Kuusisto's performance of The Lark Ascending. This is a highly contemplative piece, and with this system, it seemed time stood still. I have to admit I got a lump in my throat as I absorbed this beautiful piece. Overall, this system was wonderfully balanced. It was the best reproduction of a symphony orchestra I've ever heard. Congrats to Eleven HiFi for creating such a great room. Vibrant Hi-FI And American Sound Distribution
Vibrant Hi-Fi and American Sound Distribution was back at SWAF. In the first room you entered, there was a static display of Avantgarde Acoustic hornspeakers, an exhaustive book on loudspeaker setup entitled Precision Sound, and a lovely Synthesis HDP-300B headphone amp. Flipping through the book, I was blown away at the detail. I might have to buy one. It's available on Amazon. The HDP-300B is a very transparent headphone amp that sounded great with the Grado headphones provided.

In the main listening room were the always impressive Avantgarde Acoustic Unos hooked up to a pair of Airtight 2211 monoblocks. Other Airtight gear in the system was an ATC-6 preamp, ATC-3011 phono stage, and ATH-3s step-up transformer. I've listened to the Avantgarde Acoustic UNOs several times now, but they always amaze me with their immediacy and lack of coloration. The fine detail I was able to hear in Anna Thorvaldsdottir's Archora was fantastic.

I visited on the last day of the show to listen to Avantgarde's Opus 1 self-powered speaker. They share the family sound with plenty of punchiness. I dare you to listen to these speakers without moving a part of your body. If you want to enjoy the Avantgarde Acoustics experience in a more affordable package, these might be the speakers for you. Vibrant Audio did another fantastic job and justly earned an Enjoy the Music.com Best Of Southwest Audio Fest 2026 Blue Note Award.
