Welcome to Issue #93, another one of those issues with a little bit of everything — component reviews, speaker reviews, show commentary, CD reviews, SACD reviews, DVD reviews, and a newly revitalized Forum section that captures the essence of that audiophile icon, Shakira. I write this as the World Series gets underway; by the time you read this, the fact that Barry Bonds finally has his World Series ring will be old news, unless the Rally Monkey is sporting a ring instead. Yes, by the time you get this, the World Series will be over, and it will be time to settle down and get involved in that other Great American Pastime, audiophilia. Now is the time to think about upgrading that old amplifier or adding that subwoofer you have been lusting after all summer. Once you do that, then it will be time to drag out your favorite CDs and Li’s — you know, the ones your spouse has begged you to never play again — and really crank things up. Booyeah!
