Ramblings
by Karl W. Nehring

Welcome to Issue 101, which features quite a variety of attractions. Not only are there some reviews of some interesting equipment and plenty of our usual music reviews, but there are also some show reports and a sneak preview of an exciting new development in speaker technology. There is even a rant of sorts, which defends the right to make potty jokes (and worse); we promise not to print any ourselves -- but we do enjoy having the right to do so.

Late-breaking News: Just before going to press I received in the mail a new release from one of my musical heroes from way back, Minnesota guitarist Steve Tibbetts, who has teamed up once again with Tibetan nun Choying Drolma to record a wonderful CD tilted Selwa, a continuation of the kind of music they had previously explored in their ECM recording, Cho. This wonderful new release will bring peace to your soul even as it stimulates your musical imagination- I marvel at how these two musicians are able to blend energy and tranquility in such harmonious proportions. This new release is on the Six Degrees Records label (UPC # 657036 11042 7); they have a website at www.sixdegreesrecords.com. Enjoy!

Previews of Coming Attractions: Among the equipment we have in or have been promised for review are loudspeakers from Hsu, Thiel Audio, SV Subwoofers, and Tyler Acoustics; and much more, including plenty of music reviews, but no yes, maybe -whatever.
