Alvin Gold Alvin Gold, born 1948, is happily a father of four bright children. He started college education in science/maths before being interrupted by the 1967 Arab/Israeli war. He went to Israel to work on a kibbutzim for three years time. He then moved to the UK where he currently resides. Both his parents were very musical with several pro and amateur classical performers in the family. His mother was an amateur pianist while his father was mad keen on swing era jazz and what later came to be known as high fidelity. So being a music loving audiophile is in his blood. After holding a few jobs to make ends meet, he eventually was employed by Grahams, a famous London high end dealer, before gravitating into writing. His writing career started with Hi-Fi Answers (latterly Audiophile) and then What Hi-Fi. He currently contributes regularly to Hi-Fi News, Gramophone, Hi-Fi Choice and Home Entertainment in the UK. He also writes for The Star (Malaysia) and various others on an occasional basis. Musical tastes are about 80 percent classical, 20 percent rock, jazz and anything good. I am a full time writer, and have been now for well over 20 years. |
