Whoremoan Youth Must Dare

CD Label: Independent Release

With a name as ummm... upfront as Whoremoan, this band will most definitely get some attention, some positive and some negative. It does not matter really, because causing a stir is exactly what they want! Their music speaks for itself so having such an in your face provocative name was not necessary; nevertheless that is what they chose to use, take it or leave it. I can think of more names that are not as appealing, like Cannibal Corpse for instance, and their records sell too. Alas, Youth Must Dare to get what they want and this band has it all, reckless abandon, lyrics that are biting and dark, an endless wellspring of energy, a rawness and excitement rarely found- the entire package.

This is a "Killer Gorilla" sound no doubt in my mind…the guitar playing is as hard as nails and the vocals pound their message home with a tough aggressiveness that is excitingly forceful. My favorite track is "Capri," it's the most melodic and catchy track on the entire CD, although it's filled with plenty of hooks it maintains a strong and surging energy. This CD has been in rotation in my stereo for a month now and I like it more each time I play it. It is indeed a welcome form of repetition, I must say.

The sound on this recording is clear, crisp and powerful. Every track is hammered home with authority. The work that went into the mastering of this disc is obvious right from the outset of the first song. That precedence is set and then maintained throughout the entire run of this CD. Like metal? You will love this band.
