Classic Records... Remember The Sound

Michael Stanton of the USA won over $160 in great music from the critically acclaimed reissue music label Classic Records!  Enjoy the Music.com gathered a great selection of music to make virtually any music lover happy.  While most this great music is on 180gm vinyl, we even included one on the new DVD format for your critical listening evaluation!  Just take a look at the titles below!  Of course what really matters is that you...   Enjoy the Music!

Ry Cooder Buena Vista Social Club (RTH 79748 on vinyl)

This wonderful surprise from Havana is now available, under an exclusive worldwide license from World Circuit/Nonesuch, on 180 gram vinyl! These discs are mastered directly from the original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman (who mastered he original CD) under the supervision of the project producer, Ry Cooder. A 2-LP set in a gatefold jacket, it features artwork and photography from the original deluxe compact disc packaging.

Frank Sinatra-The Voice (CL-743 on vinyl)

Originally released in 1955, The Voice is generally considered Sinatra's best full long-playing 12"disc from his Columbia years. Hear the styling that marked his transition from big-band singer to supplanting Bing as the male vocalist for the next three decades.

Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade (LSC-2446 on vinyl)

The jewel in the Living Stereo crown. This, like the Respighi, is considered one of the very best LP's by Reiner, the CSO and RCA's production crew. Another Mohr & Layton classic.

Lorna Hunt-All in One Day (DAD-1015 on DVD Disc)

A fresh voice reminiscent of Rickie Lee Jones that grabbed our attention earlier this year and the results on this disc will show you why. A unique  singer/songwriter with a stream of consciousness way of storytelling that casts a spell from track to track. Recorded live to 2-track analog at the ambient Lompoc Theater by Paul duGre' (Leo Kottke, Dave Alvin, Los Lobos), Lorna's voice and guitar is backed by Danny Frankel on percussion, Greg Liesz on pedal steel, electric guitar, mandolin and weisneborn, Dave Jackson on accordion and Dave Pilch playing bass. The photography is by legendary lensman William Claxton.

Witches Brew (LSC-2225 on vinyl)

One of the most sought-after Decca Living Stereos, with music by Arnold, Liszt and Mussorgsky among others. A long-standing item on many audiophile want lists.

Michael Stanton of the USA won this contest.
