Audio Note UK

  Audio Note UK was at CAS 2015 with a complete system of impressive hi-fi gear. Audio Not UK's CDT One ($4100) front-loading transport is based on a Philips front-loading mechanism with an upgraded Audio Note power supply. For digital duties their DAC2.1x Signature ($5500) is the company's top model to use capacitor output coupling and the first as you move up in their range to use vacuum tube rectification. Naturally the analog output stage is tubed.

Audio Note's OTO SE Phono Signature ($6350, or $5500 as only a linestage) produces 10 watts per channel stereo in the company's adherence to single-ended tube output. For decades have had a set of AN speakers in my home (J version, all silver) and at CAS 2015 Audio Note UK was using their K/SPe ($3950 per pair, stands $640 per pair) two way, infinite baffle system that is 90dB/W/m sensitive. They have an 8" woofer and a 0.75" soft dome tweeter and wired with Audio Note SPe silver speaker cable. As always, very musically natural and engaging. There is just that magical something about the inherent sound of Audio Note UK gear that, musically, always delivers.
