Munich Germany
High End Society 2005 Show

Part 2
Page 2

Dynaudio was at the Munich show with their top line Confidence series. The large floorstanding C2 offers great music reproduction and our review of it can be seen by clicking here.

How much do the Germans love analog? Well my friends there is a very impressive magazine called LP Magazin Für Analoges HiFi & Vinyl-Kultur. While my German is a bit rusty, looking through a few issues i can see how they truly take a careful look and listen to many vinyl-based units.

Also at the magazine booth was vintage record players including the Micro Seiki RX-1500 G.

And this brings us to vinyl vendors such as Blue Danube Rare Records. Racks and racks... and racks... and racks of vinyl.

And more vinyl from Tacet Gmbh. Note the amount of music lovers surrounding the booth!

If you are catching a theme here, vinyl truly is appreciated in Germany. Here is Pro-Ject's carbon fiber 9-inch tonearm (€495) and available in 12-inch version (€625). See our review of Pro-Ject's Xpression and Speed Box here and also their Phono Box SE here.

VAC Pi30i integrated amplifier (€20,000) was at the Munich Germany High End Society show driving Duevel's new Jupiter (€16,000) that features a 4-inch titanium for the upper frequencies and 12-inch paper cone woofer. An improved cabinet and crossover network make the Jupiter easier to drive with a 93dB/W/m at 8 ohms. VAC's Avatar was reviewed here and the Duevel Bella Luna loudspeaker here.

Rolf Kelch's Reference II turntable has a pair of quarts synchronized and speed adjustable (+-6 percent) motors, 16 kg aluminum platter, plays 33/45/78 rpm records, and looks absolutely seductive.

If you are seeking precision parts or ribbon drivers, Mundorf offers a huge array of various capacitors, ribbons, transformers, etc.
