CES Show Report

CES Show Report Audiophile Exhibitor List
Thursday

We will start the day with music! At Acoustic sounds they had vinyl, more vinyl, and that flat black stuff called vinyl. No nasty Sony rootkit, no sampling rate to deal with... Also at their booth was Cayin electronics including an digital disc player, tubed headphone amplifier, and integrated amplifier.

Cisco music, the company that reissues great classical music titles plus some awesome jazz, are here selling up a storm.

And with vinyl comes another one of my faves... tubes! New Sensor has newly made/branded Mullard, Electro-harmonic, and Tung-Sol. From 6973 to 300B to KT88 and so much more. New is the 6973 power tube for old weird integrated amplifiers, 6PM8 for smaller, modern amps, and really cool is the 5881 Tung-Sol that is a replica of the original. Their new 12AX7 labeled Tung-Sol has gold pins, has a higher gain and lower noise than a standard version. Hmmm....

Reference Recordings is going gangbusters as they are celebrating their 30th anniversary! They have direct-to-CD recordings, inexpensive samplers, and of course great Grammy nominated titles!

Classic Records, the guys who have reissued Hendrix, The Who, Peter Gabriel... and of course Living Stereo and other classical music. These guys are on the ball and hitting it out of the park!

Telarc is probably one of most known labels that manufacturers super high-end sound music discs. They have been nominated for so many awards i can't begin to count!

Elusive Disc of course has vinyl, digital discs, tweaks, and much more.

Doron had a ride simulator that can also be used for movie experience.

McIntosh XR2Kw ($80,000 per pair) stands about 7 feet high, has 110 drivers and 11 pairs of loudspeaker binding posts! Without a doubt this gets my award for the most of everything. You wanna be more better, this is bigger larger huger.

VTL has all-new cosmetics and their new MB-40 Signature monoblock ($13,500) produces 450 watts per channel and has auto-biasing. We have many VTL reviews in Superior Audio and our Review Magazine.
